Hi! My name is Jenica Fonttenaus and I am an online English teacher. I decided to start my business in September 2008 after accepting a full-time teaching position in Japan. My experience there was amazing! I love Japan and it’s culture. After returning home to California (and missing all of my Japanese students) I decided to become an online English teacher. Currently, most of my students are Korean.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Southern California. Obviously, I’m an adventurer who loves to travel, read, and shop. My favorite topics of conversation are health and fitness, politics, history, children and spirituality. I am always eager to meet new people and learn new things so the idea of being your online English teacher is quite incredible.
Thank you for the opportunity to be your online English teacher. I look forward to making this a lasting relationship.
My Experience
I’m sure you would like to know what my qualifications are. I graduated from California State University Fullerton in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I then completed teaching courses at the university and started work on a Masters in Education with the University of Phoenix online. After completing my BA, I passed the California Basic Educational Standardized Test (CBEST) and worked in four different school districts as a substitute teacher. Some other experience includes two years of private tutoring for middle to high school age children and several months of homeschooling for fourth grade. In addition to teaching English in Japan for eight months, my most recent experience is an online English teacher for Korean students.
